About Us

In 1981 Pastor David & Joan's began to think about starting a church in the communities of Green Valley and Sahuarita. Pastor David was working at Duval Mine at the time. After many months of thinking and praying about it and speaking to the leadership of the Assemblies of God they rented a room in Social Center West and started holding services on Sunday afternoons. Not long after that they purchased 4 acres in Sahuarita and began the process of establishing a permanent building.

At first they met in 2 single wide mobile homes that had been donated. They met there until the first building was built. That beautiful structure was located in a residential area and at the end of a dirt road. Needless to say it wasn't ideal, but God blessed them there and they grew to the point that they realized they needed a larger facility. As they began to look for another, more visible location the Lord opened up the property they are now at on La Canada Dr. That was a complete miracle, but it's a story for another time. From the time the process began until the building was completed 6 years had elapsed. It was through the help of many MAPS workers that the building was built. By this time our small first building was overloaded. We had removed a wall so we could have overflow and hold all of the people. In 2001 we moved to the new location.

We are so grateful that God has provided us with such a beautiful facility to meet in and preach the Word of God to this community. There are now many churches in the Sahuarita and Green Valley Communities. We are glad to be one of them. God has abundantly blessed us through the years and we hope you will join us for services. The one thing we wanted to bring from our first building was the presence of God. He had been with us there and we wanted Him to be with us in the new location. We are so grateful to feel that same presence in our services. That is what it is all about. Our goal is to bring you to an even closer relationship with Jesus Christ. God has been with us in so many ways and His blessings have been abundant. Both David & Joan are ordained ministers with the Assemblies of God. Joan is the Women's Pastor and she is working on getting her latest Bible Study published. Their heart's desire is to see people find salvation through Jesus Christ.
